One man has been arrested and another is in hospital after a 25 kilometre police chase through Western Sydney.

Police attempted to stop two white Audi sedans travelling on Elata Way Bidwill at 10:45pm last night, but they drove off at high speed.

PolAir then monitored the A5 as it travelled through Blacktown, Rouse Hill, Baulkham Hills, Bonnyrigg and Bonnyrigg Heights. On Simpson Road, Bonnyrigg Heights, the two male occupants jumped out of the Audi and entered another stolen vehicle, a grey Volkswagen Golf. PolAir continued to monitor the Volkswagen.

At the intersection of Cowpasture Road and Elizabeth Drive, the vehicle was stopped in traffic and allegedly reversed into an unmarked police vehicle. Police exited their vehicle and arrested the driver, a 23-year-old Shalvey man and his passenger, a 24-year-old South Penrith man. Police searched the vehicle which was allegedly stolen from a home at Ropes Crossing between 9am on Tuesday (27 April 2021) and 8am on Wednesday (28 April 2021). During the search, police located and seized a knife and a machete.
